by Prof. Tom Gross

The 17th Euromicro International Conference on Parallel, Distributed, and Network-Based Processing (PDP 2009) was organised by the CSCW Research Group of Prof. Tom Gross and took place at the Bauhaus-University Weimar from 18th to 20th February 2009.

The PDP 2009 is part of the annual conference series on PDP, carried by the Euromicro organization. The Euromicro organisation was founded in 1975 and is among the first computer science organizations in Europe and the world.

The PDP 2009 in Weimar took place on three days and had three parallel tracks of scientific talks on Network-based Computing; Parallel Computing and Message Passing; Distributed Systems; Programming Environments: Concepts and Evaluation; Languages, Programming and Runtime Support Systems; as well as Advanced Applications and Algorithm. Among the highlights were three invited talks of great scholars of the field: Prof. Dr. Ralf Steinmetz on the first day, Prof. Dr. Denis Caromel on the second day; and Dr. Klaus Gottschalk on the third day.
